A CONVERSATION requires a BALANCE between talking and listening, and somewhere along the way, WE LOST THAT BALANCE. \ud83d\ude4a<\/p>\n
Radio journalist and broadcaster CELESTE HEADLEE gives us 10 tips on teaching how to talk, and how to listen:<\/p>\n
-\ud835\udfed- DON’T MULTITASK.\ud83e\uddd0 Be present. Be in that moment.
\nIf you want to get out of the conversation, get out of it, but don’t be half in it and half out of it.<\/p>\n

\nYou need to enter every conversation assuming that YOU HAVE SOMETHING TO LEARN.<\/p>\n

\nThat means thoughts will come into your mind and you need to let them go out of your mind. Stories and ideas are going to come to you. You need to let them come and let them go!<\/p>\n

\nTalk should not be cheap.<\/p>\n
– \ud835\udff2- DON’T EQUATE YOUR EXPERIENCE WITH THEIRS.

\nPeople don’t care about the years, names, dates, all those details that you’re struggling to come up with in your mind. They don’t care. They care about what you’re like, AND WHAT YOU HAVE IN COMMON.
